Who We Are
KUANI, meaning "I" in the Ainu language, is a film studio that, true to its name, focuses on deeply personal themes. We produce a wide range of visual works, including films, documentaries, and commercials. In 2022, our short film “Like You” received the Best Foreign Short Award at the Nordic International Film Festival. In 2024, our feature documentary “Northern Food Story” was selected for the Culinary Cinema section of the 72nd San Sebastián International Film Festival.
